I'm a wife, a mom, a former nurse, a college student, and somehow the founder of a charter school consulting firm. I did not plan any of this. Life just kept saying go and I kept saying okay.
Before all of this I was an LPN working back to back 12-hour shifts. I loved taking care of people. I just eventually realized I could do that in a different way and on my own terms.
When COVID hit I relocated to Charlotte and started saying yes to things that scared me. Someone needed a website. Then a brand. Then help filling seats. Then I looked up and KP Charter Kollective existed.
Outside of work I am a total homebody. You will find me with a good book, making a mess in the kitchen, or in the Buc-ee's checkout line with way too many snacks. My kids give me exactly zero chances to sleep in but I keep trying.
Speaking of my kids. I have two. Gigi and AJ. Both are on the autism spectrum and they are honestly the entire reason behind everything I build. I have sat across from schools and wondered if they actually saw my child. I have been up at 2am researching sensory environments and curriculum models because I needed to know my babies were going to be okay. That experience changed me. It changed how I show up for every single school I work with.
I am also a Charlotte Top 30 Under 30 honoree, a Phi Theta Kappa member, and a college student finishing my degree at NC A&T. But honestly the credential I am most proud of is still figuring it out every single day.
